The Kiss by Gustav Klimt is a celebrated masterpiece indicative of his style and use of symbolism. Painted between 1907 and 1908, Klimt used gold leaf to illustrate a luxurious and otherworldly atmosphere. The intricate details, swirling patterns, and symbolic elements within the composition convey themes of love, unity, and the intertwining of the spiritual and the sensual.
